Should my teeth still hurt?

on the 11th i had four cavitys filled. and my teeth hurt so bad still - a day later. my mom and others say they shouldnt, but i see where they could, because, i mean, i had 4 teeth worked on. my mouth isnt going to feel great. but it hurts to even drink water and eat soup. my teeth are soo sensitive. and i want to know if my teeth should still be hurting after just getting 4 fillings?

Should my teeth still hurt?
Drilling and filling probably upset some of the nerves in your teeth and that could be why they are still hurting. I just had a temporary crown put in (cracked a tooth) and I hurt for a few days from drilling around the tooth. I wouldn't panic until a few more days go by and if you still hurt, have your mom call the dentist for some suggestions. You may want to try a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Good luck and congrats on getting the work done. It is much better to keep your teeth than to have to fool with dentures!
Reply:i would expect for things to be uncomfortable but it shouldn't be painful. I wonder if the dentist hit a nerve while doing the fillings?
Reply:They will be a bit sensitive for a day or so you just had alot of work done the injection sites may even hurt a bit, I ahd 3 teeth pulled yesterday at 11:30 I had a little pain afterwards that I took some ibuprophen for and was better, give it a day or so then if they still hurt call your dentist, I read alot about teeth because of anixiety about getting the teeth pulled went threw it for 2 months, so I believe that for filling I read a little pain was going to be there, it depends alot on the person and amount of work, BUT GOOD FOR YOU FOR GETTING IT DONE BEFORE IT GOT TOO BAD
Reply:YOUR BITE MIGHT BE OFF THE FILLINGS COULD BE TO HIGH IT IS A QUICK APPT AND IF YOU CALL THE DENTIST THEY WILL FIT YOU INTO THE SCHEDULE THEY WILL HAVE YOU BITE UP AND DOWN ON A PIECE OF COLORED PAPER TO CHECK FOR THE HIGH SPOTS YOU WERE NUMB WHEN THEY WORKED ON THE TEETH AND NOW THAT YOU ARE NOT NUMB YOU ARE BITING MORE ACCURATELY THIS HAPPENS ALOT IN THE OFFICE I WORK IN AND WE EXPECT IT WITH MULTIBLE FILLINGS
Reply:I had the same deal. They stopped hurting after a few days. I was told that if they hurt more than a few days to go back because that is not normal. I feel like my bite is off though and I will have that fixed at my 2nd round of fillings on the other side of my mouth.
