My two front teeth hurt. What can I do?

A couple days ago my two front teeth started to hurt AND feel cold. Even when I don't have anything cold. I can feel them pulsating with pain throughout the day. Its not the gums though. Its the teeth.

Anyway, I've had this problem with the back of my gums but my dentist won't do anything since it wasn't that serious to requre a root canal. he said to try sensodine toothpaste. Doesn't really help and now my front teeth are hurting more and more everyday. Anything I can use? Should I try the sensodine toothpaste again?

hey there, sounds like you need to ask your dentist if you have some exposed roots. If you have some gum problems (I'm guessing maybe receding gums or other perio problems) they might have receded far enough past your tooth's protective enamel, and that's why they are so sensitive. If that is the problem, your dentist may be able to fix it with some restorations such as 'bonding' (filling material) or maybe you should get a crown.

A whole other problem could be you've cracked your tooth, symptoms may be the same. You may need a crown to help that too. Your dr will tell you steps to fix that problem.

Or is it something you may have caused? Grinding your teeth? If so, ask to have a night guard made.Bleaching your teeth? Stop for a few days, then ease into it for 1/2 hour sessions instead. Either way, the best solution other than Sensodine is to use fluoride rinse before bed, remember to carefully follow directions. That will help a little. Good luck, I know how frustrating sensitive teeth can be!
Reply:Go get a second opinion. Couldn't hurt (no pun intended)
Reply:Su%26lt;k on a lemon!
Reply:second opinion. since the first opinion didnt solve ur problem
Reply:drink water and organic soda
Reply:Find another dentist to see what the problem is!!!!
Reply:try it again but it probably wont work... just brush them more often than you usually do and try mixing salt and water and use it as mouth wash but dont swallow it or you can also suck on something sour
Reply:You can get some thing over the counter that numbs painfull

teeth, but it's only temporary. You will probably have to go back to the dentist. I am amazed that the dentist didn't do something for you at the time.
Reply:have your friend punch you
Reply:Take some ibuprofen, call the dentist, and don't eat ice cream. Or if you wait long enough, you may at least be able to sing that one song and mean it. What's it called again? Something about "All I want for Christmas, is my ...... "
